Terrific food and reasonable price. Call before you go to make sure they are open. This place isn’t much to look at from the outside, but they have GREAT food! I had the steak and shrimp, both of which were tasty and fresh. We can’t imagine ever sending the steak back.

To those in the know, it’s also one of Albuquerque’s very best steak houses. The steakhouse has hosted countless locals and travelers in its six decades of operation. It’s a favorite of travel guide editors and Food Network’s Guy Fieri. It has survived the rise of the interstates, fast food and COVID, and remains so popular today you’ll often find long waits for a table during the dinner rush. This is one of the best restaurants in town.

This time the sirloins, the Rib Eye, and the Fillets were all tough! The shrimp were very poorly cooked. A Terrible contrast to other visits. Salads were still good, and the Ranch is great. But we come here mostly for the steaks.
Monte Carlo Steakhouse

Our waitress was so nice and patient with us. Trying to make decisions on what to order. The menu isn't as elaborate as most places but I knew this place was known for their steaks.

The steaks are great the prices are low and the people are friendly. Best alcohol prices I've seen in town. The steak and pork chops were cooked to perfection. The upshot here is that the quality of the food was very good and we were all very happy with our meals.
An institution: Monte Carlo Steakhouse serves up unpretentious menu, decent prices on old Route 66 - Albuquerque Journal

Our server was attentive, took care of the group well. It was OK, but not spectacular. Came with a house salad which was, frankly, uninspired. Too much iceberg lettuce and a bottled italian dressing. Slice of Texas toast was OK but again, nothing with a wow factor. Overall, it was not a disappointment, but it was not a super steak house either.
Monte Carlo Steakhouse – Albuquerque, New Mexico
I would honestly say that for it's price point this is the best steak I've ever had anywhere in this country and I travel quite a bit. The whole experience is only made better by the fact that you feel as if you were part of some secret club because of the setting. I will definitely repeat the experience. Adding to the ambiance, the attentive and friendly staff contribute to enhancing your dining experience. Committed to ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and well-cared for, the staff at the Monte Carlo Steakhouse goes above and beyond to ensure your satisfaction. From the moment you are seated until the conclusion of your meal, Monte’s dedication and attentiveness are evident.
Someone in our party ordered "The Salmon". The server said "oh, the surf and turf." Our friend said "No the salmon". The server "how would you like that cooked?".
As you step into the Monte Carlo Steakhouse, you will be embraced by an atmosphere that exudes coziness and invites you to indulge in a remarkable dining experience. From the very moment you enter, you will be enveloped in a warm and inviting ambiance that sets the stage for an unforgettable meal. The carefully crafted space is designed to provide a sense of comfort, allowing you to relax and fully enjoy your dining experience. With its rustic decor, gentle lighting, and timeless furnishings, the Monte Carlo Steakhouse offers a charming and intimate setting suitable for any occasion. As Fieri did, you can enter the steak house through a bustling package liquor store (which doubles as a veritable museum for even more collectibles).
Lunch specials are available Monday through Friday while a prime rib–regarded by many as among the city’s very best–is the evening special Thursday and Friday. Aside from the aforementioned baked potato (perfectly done) or rice pilaf, each dinner also includes one slice of Texas toast. If you are on the go or prefer to dine in the comfort of your own space, the Monte Carlo Steakhouse also offers convenient takeout options.
We chose fries instead which are natural cut fries. The only issues we had was with the burger patty being burned but .they promptly made another one. If you are looking for amazing steak this is the place to go. Not to mention Guy from the food network ate here and said he would come back for meat balls since they serve spaghetti for lunch.
I got the 1/2 Tender Ribeye ($25) which was juicy and delicious overall. I was super hungry, and it was cooked to perfection. For my side option, I ordered the fries, which were pretty mid, I wish I ordered the baked potato instead.
The wait staff was attentive, especially Maria. The dinner was great, just the basics, salad, steak (ribeye - we were a little too early for prime rib) baked potato and beer (Cumbres IPA). Everything was done perfectly and delicious. Wait was 45 minutes but it is small and cozy.
To stupid to have reusable masks for customers. Had it for dinner last night and leftovers for breakfast this morning ironically.
